As a general rule I research before starting any new concept, iterate and validate to improve concepts and deliverables. Although each project requires its own unique adjustments, I rely on frameworks as a guide to reach the best solution for the problem. Adapting quickly and iterating along the way.

One of the things I've learned about processes in product design is that different companies or projects might have different approaches and needs. Product design is in itself interdisciplinary and ideally is guided by a user-centered approach.

Overview

In between frameworks

In between the different mindsets of design thinking, lean and agile things can get confusing fast. Terminologies and methods from these 3 different mindsets can make the delivery of a product an experiment in itself.

How the frameworks overlap

Product Design is an interdisciplinary process. There is a lot of overlap and possible information overload coming from the different disciplines implicated in product design. Having an understanding of what or why you are following certain methods and not others can be helpful. After experiencing the environment in more agile, lean or design thinking driven companies, I can understand more the bigger picture. And in the end it all comes back to building a product that is viable, desirable & feasible. To achieve this agile, lean and design thinking methods need to ideally complement each other.
